I was originally given two of these irons of different sizes from Korea. I had them for a year trying to find a suitable transformer that wouldn't smell as the adapter just didn't work. In the end I decided to just buy one from Amazon and I LOVE it! It's made in Korea and is one of the most popular curling irons there, but the voltage can easily be used in US outlets. As a hairstylist, I have used many different brands of curling irons. It has a ceramic coating and is therefore gentler on the hair than a hot iron. I've used this for big glam waves and beachy waves. The temperature will rise to 400F but it will be in Celsius. If you have thick, straight (Asian etc.) hair you can set the max temperature (200) but I usually set the temperature at 180-190. The curls fall smoothly all day and the next day my hair looks like it's loose. If the ends of the hair are fine, the flat iron will be difficult to hold because it is very soft. First I twist the ends along the entire length, then go back and twist the middle of the pole and it turns out very nice. If your hair is shoulder length or longer and you want tighter curls, I would go for the smaller size, purple. Cheap and cheap hair is not good :)
