Right out of the box I found them too dark and cheap. After washing them and sleeping on them for a few nights, the color turned to true gold, and although the sheets were thin, they felt comfortable. I eventually switched back to cotton sheets because satin was too slippery. The fitted sheet actually held up relatively well on the mattress with minimal shifting, but combined with the flat sheet and pillowcases I couldn't hold anything on the bed. If you know you like satin bedding or are trying them for the first time I would say they work well for the price. They're not luxurious, but they make bedtime a little more inviting.
