Review on Seamander High-Quality Captain Bucket Seat With Filp Up Function, Ideal For Boats (SC1-White/Blue) by Bobby Cantu

Very nice looking seat - tight!

I will update this review later after I have installed the seats in the boat, but initial impressions are 1.) VERY nice-looking seat, well made, and stylish. 2.) Tight! Dang, these are snug. They are great to sit in due to the high back. Lower-backed bucket seats that hit you below the shoulder blades want to push your butt forward and out of the seat, no issues with that with these and plenty of under-thigh support. I am 6'2" and weigh 250lbs, my shoulders are wide (broad back), and these hit right about mid-shoulder blade with my upper shoulders and arms free. Anyway, these fit like a glove, literally. No room on either side to move my body around, and my hips and butt just fit and I have a 38-40 waist. When the boat is going 60 mph I'm thinking these will hold me in place nicely, and at the same time, I am hoping that they won't beat up my kidneys too bad. I bought these because it was cheaper to buy brand new than get my old seats reupholstered. So far I am satisfied that these will be a nice seat and work well for us, but I do wish they were maybe a couple of inches wider overall.

Pros
  • The seat is constructed with sturdy plastic backrest and stainless steel fasteners which cause no rusting issues, unlike most other seats.
Cons
  • Heavy and difficult to transport
