Review on Enhance Sound Quality with Rolls EQ570 Audio Equalizer by Timothy Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I needed!

I'm not getting any younger. Over the years I've noticed that as the TV gets thinner, the TV sound degrades. This simply leaves less space for dynamic speakers. With older ears and lower quality speakers, the problem for me is hearing dialogue clearly. In movies and at sporting events, dialogue seems to mix with the background noise. To find a solution I tried soundbars (expensive) and even a set of very dynamic Tecton M Lore speakers with a PS-driven Klipsch R-12SWi subwoofer. Audio Sprout integrated amplifier with Schiit Modi 3+ DAC. While this system was better than any soundbar I've tried, I still couldn't get it to the point where I could hear dialogue clearly. This led me to several YouTube reviews that talked about using equalizers to correct "source imperfections" in recordings and compensate for system and room issues affecting audio playback. EQs used to be all the rage but fell out of favor when purists said they added "noise" and spoiled the signal chain. Think about it. It's rare to see tone controls on a receiver or amplifier these days. Enter this EQ570, for its modest price I decided to try it because one of the reviews addressed my exact problem. The reviewer said it would "drive" the dialogue for your ears. This is the perfect description of what he does. Right after pitching up the EQ570 and turning off the extreme bass, it sounds like the dialogue actually jumps forward. Music videos on YouTube sound much better now! I am thrilled and enthusiastic and can only recommend this product!
