A set of quality whetstones ideal for properly sharpening kitchen knives...

There are many knife sharpeners on the market, mostly inexpensive kitchen knives, which sharpen the blade quickly. I've had a few of these and they're fine, but there's nothing quite like sharpening a decent knife on a whetstone. I'm by no means a knife collector, but we do have a few treasured knives. There are also functional ones for everyday use. I remember my grandfather used a whetstone to sharpen his knives and axes. He could get a perfectly sharpened edge. It was an art form, but the whetstones I have sharpen the blade well. I mostly use small knives around the house and I like them to have a nice sharp edge. I don't want to sharpen my kitchen knives as I'm not a chef and I don't need a very sharp knife in the kitchen. However, if you do, this is the perfect set for it. This sharpening stone is simple, just two grits, 1000/6000. #1000 is a universal stone, universal for example for kitchen knives. #6000 is your capstone. Simple bamboo base with non-slip backing. It's not skewed, and if that's what you want, you might want a different grit. I have one, but I recommend this set to anyone who only has a couple of knives they want to sharpen. Check out YouTube and its many tutorials to help you decide which sharpening stone is right for your needs. The leather strap is made of high quality leather. I don't see any blue color around the edges indicating a second rate product. The rectangular D-ring is solid and the strap is well made. I'm still trying to find an old fashioned vintage sling but this sling is very serviceable. SCOPE OF DELIVERY: Reversible sharpening stone, grit 1000/6000, bamboo base with non-slip handle, knife angle guide, silicone holder, leather strap, green polishing paste
