I read an article on best knives for the price where I learned about these bad guys. I'm a knife snob - I currently have Shun and Wusthof knives - but I wanted something lighter and didn't need it baby. This is compliant. They are very light but have a sharp edge. I've been using them almost exclusively since I got them for Christmas. I use a sturdy Wüsthof for meat, but these kiwi knives are great for chopping vegetables and other everyday tasks. I still try to wash and dry thoroughly after use to avoid possible damage, but I'm not as hyperactive about this as my more expensive knives. I ended up giving a few to my brother and sister in law and they love them too.
