Great product marred by poorly designed software

No problems setting up with Alexa and the Halo Home app. I must now humbly apologize for that arrogant assumption. Setting up the Halo RL56HVAHWB1 is the clumsiest thing I've had to do in a long time. After more than 5 hard resets, uninstalls and reinstalls, device removals and reconnects, I was close to giving up but insisted. Connecting the Halo Home app and then turning that app on Alexa for easy operation was pretty easy. The second Halo app, Halo Voice, was a nightmare. Halo ceiling unit RL56HVAHWB1 could not be detected. Halo Voice is required for the light to be used as an echo device. Finally, after the second restart of my phone, I was able to connect it. Then I noticed that the Alexa backlight stopped working. I had to turn Alexa's Halo Skills routine off, turn it back on, and then rediscover the RL56HVAHWB1 Halo smart light. Now everything works as it should. The physical installation of the light was the easiest part of setting up this new light fixture in my home. Right at the entrance to my bathroom is a tall ceiling light controlled by an independent switch. The original fixture was a recessed fixture, which turned out to be a halo fixture held up by torch springs, as was the new lamp. After a power outage in the bathroom, I was able to remove the old light fixture from the ceiling and loosen the torch springs holding it to the ceiling. The center bulb socket was then separated from the old bracket and used to screw in the new bulb's electrical connector. I then screwed the ground wire to the existing recessed case screw and connected the new lamp's electrical connector to the connector I had previously installed to the old outlet. The halo light assembly was firmly seated in the ceiling light housing. The new light fits snugly against the ceiling. The new light's attached spring mounts can easily be adjusted to fit either a 6" ceiling box or a 5" ceiling box. When complete, the Halo RL56HVAHWB1 installation looked exactly like any other ceiling light the builder had installed in my home, except for the blue Alexa ring in the center. the light goes on and off. This causes the Halo Home app and Alexa to lose control of the light. Halo responded to my Revain Q&A with a switch recommendation to fix this issue. They recommended a Halo flush mount dimmer switch, model number HIWAC1BLE40AWH. Available here at Revain, only available in white. Light switches in my house are light almonds. I will install a halo dimmer switch when it arrives, but if my wife ever decides to focus on color differences the rest of my life will be miserable. Halo is a trademark of Eaton Electric Company. The New York Stock Exchange company has been in business since 1911, and the only reason I can think of why this respected company has developed such clunky software applications is because its production and software creation has been outsourced. The Halo Voice information tab states that the build date for the software is 09/10/2019. It's a long time without improving the app required to enable features on new smart devices like the Halo RL56HVAHWB1 ceiling light. I hope Eaton is committed to the Halo Smart Device line as I love this new Alexa enabled light and wouldn't upgrade my home with the Halo Smart Device line.
