I got this mainly because I love cooking outside on my Blackstone, grills and smokers. Sometimes you really need to know your hotspots so you can get good seats and not overcook your food. So that helps a lot. It is made of high quality plastic. Easy to grip and really durable. It comes with a rechargeable battery so you don't have to buy it separately. To use, simply aim and pull the trigger. It turns on automatically. As long as you hold the button, it will continue to measure the temperature, and as soon as you release the button, it will display the temperature for about a minute and then turn off automatically. The screen is easy to read. It has a backlight so you can use it at night and switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. I really recommend it.
