I now have three Olympus digital cameras. The D-395 was my third and most disappointing but it won't be my last Olympus because I made a consumer error buying this camera. ASSUMPTION! I was looking for a replacement for my old Olympus D-380 because I proudly gave it to my better half. The good performance and reliability of the D-380 was. I figured the newer D-395 would be at least as fast as my old D-380 if it actually got the shot I wanted after pressing the shutter button. Not correct! Be prepared to limit your candid shots as you will "miss the moment". Although the photos and portraits are good. I assumed it would have the same fast flash recharge time as my old D-380. Not correct! This is another issue related to missing the moment. I figured it could shoot as many continuous shots at the same speed as my old D-380. Not right! I assumed it would charge just as quickly when first turned on. Not correct! Yes, more of that. I assumed the display would be just as sharp. Not right! I assumed the flash would work even in low light. Not right! As I mentioned earlier, I made some assumptions when it came to these details. I am very satisfied with other Olympus products. So make sure you know what you're buying and don't assume you're buying the same brand and updating the model number as the camera! Not correct!
