The original base you replace in the dash storage compartment is made of rubber and stays in place by locking around a ledge built into the dash. The base that comes with this kit is hard plastic and doesn't lend itself at all. Also, it's slightly smaller than your original gum base. Therefore it will not snap into the JKU 2018 as the plastic cannot form around the rim. I didn't risk it because there's nothing worse than a rattling noise while driving. If the base was rubber it might work, but not this product.
