I'm in several photo groups, so I go for a walk almost every weekend. The tripod is very helpful! I can imagine it's heavier than some of the leading brands, but I'm used to taking it with me when hiking. (I'll add that I'm a little old lady!) This poor tripod has been abused with sand, salt water, snow, mud, dust, etc. I haven't treated it gently or kindly, but it doesn't put me down. Literally. My tripod serves as a walking stick for walking on streams and rocky trails.
