You can use one for IFR charts with a clear plastic holder, or you can add an iPad mini holder with velcro, or you can attach your checklists, etc. I've flown with the iPad mini on my right leg (you can hang the iPad vertically or align vertically). landscape) and a checklist clip on my left foot (I'm left-handed, so it's easier for me to write on my left foot when needed). Both knee pads, yes you get two separate knee pads that you can attach to each leg for the price of one, are very well made and the material is very durable. After looking at a pair of AOPA knee pads, I'm sure this will be my last purchase of knee pads! The ONLY thing I didn't like was that the iPad case doesn't come off, it just hangs on the side and doesn't do anything in flight. it bothered me. I will cut mine. If this doesn't bother you in flight, it's best to leave it on so you can use it off the plane for everyday use and protect your iPad.
