After about a year of daily use the small elastic bands inside will start to tear and stand out a bit due to over stretching/use but the fabric remains intact and they are still usable. I also noticed that the bead came loose and twisted around the fabric exposing the silver clasp that also held everything together. But I use them day to day, at the gym, I wash them after words, and I think that's why they wear out. Also be careful if you wear rings my rings will catch on the fabric and then pop out and look bad but don't ruin the use of the tie.
