Review on Equus 7361 Fuel Level Gauge: Stylish Chrome Design with Black Dial by Dale Hing

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replacement Jeep CJ7.

I have a 1986 CJ7, I checked the resistance of a dead fuel gauge several days between fill ups. I have 11 ohms (full tank) to 60 ohms (1/4 tank) on the pink wire on the back of my factory gauge. The transmitter in my tank was still working! Instead of buying a new speedometer ($130) or taking mine apart to install a new fuel gauge, I bought one for less than $15. The pointer is stable and provides accurate readings. Easy install, 12 volts, ground and the pink wire that went to the factory meter. I hooked up the 12 volt and ground wire from the radio, all spades on the new sensor, about 10 minutes. To make it light up (optional) I connected it to the wiper light on the dash (orange wire) so that it lights up when I turn on the headlights. I will eventually replace my factory sensor but this is a great fuse! I believe it's also the same ohm range of the factory temp sensor so it can be used to troubleshoot the temp sensor. The only downside is that it didn't come with a mount.
