I can't tell if it works or not. I .

Can't tell if it works or not. I tried following the instructions that came with it but they are very vague and I can't tell if I have the correct cables and there are no instructions when I look for them. No success so far, but most likely it's just user error.

Finally - an accurate fuel level sensor!

Replaced the speedometer on my 1980 CJ5 and the gauge that was built in is a joke (shows half a tank when the tank is full). The transmitter has been verified to measure from 10 to 74 ohms. I tried with a different meter but it didn't work at all. This number is very close to reality.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Something different

Great buy for the price

Love this product, very easy to install and works great. I installed it on my 1986 F150 using the same wire from the original wiring harness. Very accurate and bright at night. Before purchasing, please make sure that it has the correct ohm value as a transmitter unit. Otherwise very happy with the product and highly recommend

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not bad

Good meter but read review

This meter fits 10-70 ohms for my old CJ and installs quickly with factory wiring. The problem I have is that it shows a step with the key at 12v then the fuel level goes up when the engine starts and the alternator puts out 14v. I'm inclined to think that the 12v gauge is the most accurate, but if you drive a vintage CJ, any fuel gauge reading is better than no information.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great for the price but bulb was broken

Although the bulb was broken out of the box this item still gets 5/5 stars. It comes with the right size cable connectors for crimping, clear instructions and a pretty good build quality. I actually used this to replace a very old and outdated system in my '68 bug. I wish the needle was a different color but it's hard to complain about such a cheap replacement. Does exactly what it should. Chrome looks more like silver plastic/aluminum, but real chrome wears out very quickly where I live, so I…

Replacement Jeep CJ7.

I have a 1986 CJ7, I checked the resistance of a dead fuel gauge several days between fill ups. I have 11 ohms (full tank) to 60 ohms (1/4 tank) on the pink wire on the back of my factory gauge. The transmitter in my tank was still working! Instead of buying a new speedometer ($130) or taking mine apart to install a new fuel gauge, I bought one for less than $15. The pointer is stable and provides accurate readings. Easy install, 12 volts, ground and the pink wire that went to the factory…
