They are great for travel because I bought my first phone which didn't have the same charging port as almost 98% of the devices on the World. The only problem is that it's ok if you use it for charging, but if you use it for charging and data transfer, you may encounter some problems. I tried plugging my phone into a USB port on a car I borrowed so I could play music, but the car wouldn't connect. Before anyone asks, I ended up buying the correct cable because the car happened to have a permit and the machine was connected to my phone with a special cable. I'm just assuming it's the adapter, but like I said, it's a good fallback plan since microcabling is a lot more common than C-ports these days.
