I bought this diverter because of the flexibility described in the ad. I have to say it's lives up to its description. I have the smallest (barely room for 1) shower insert Home Depot offers. The walls are maybe 6 ft so the standard which angles down leave you with the shower head at about 5.5 ft. I'm 5.9 so it wasn't working well for me. I bought shower extension arm that went up then hooked back down & diverter to connect the pipe coming from the wall to the new shower arm. The standard diverter has 2 issues it added 2 inches the pipe coming from the wall & the angel going back is wide putting the arm at 45 degree angle resulting in the shower spraying directly on the shower curtain. This diverter solved both issues with the ability to have a smaller angle for the arm to almost go straight up so the shower points down. This is the only diverter I found like it. I'm amazed there aren't others out there but I very glad I this one is.
