Good overall, but be careful with it.

So I bought a 14' x 22' to use as a canopy. I built my frame out of 1" EMT. I was very concerned about it working as I only have a 12 degree pitch to work with. It ended up working well except for getting it taught at the bottom (fascia in my case). The 4 corners you can put some serious tension on, but the grommets tear very easily. I used ratchet straps to pull it tight and it tore at the grommets. Luckily, I sort of planned for this and ordered it slightly larger (about 9 inches) than I needed. I ended up using spray glue (3M 90 bonded exceptionally well to it) and gluing the tarp to two sides of a 2x6 (one face and one edge). I attached some tie down rings to the 2x6 and then used the ratchet straps again to get it tight. Once tight, I fastened the 2x6 to my frame with screws, then removed the ratchet straps. I was able to pull it so tight that it actually bent my frame a little. The end result is a canopy that is so tight that it almost sounds like a drum when rain drops hit it. Kind of loud, but it was a trade off to make it work with the 12 degree pitch. Even at 12 degrees, its so tight that water just runs right off it. I'm sure the manufacturer doesn't expect installs to go like mine, but I'm very happy with it. Since there's no slack at all, wind isn't a problem either. There's no way I would have been able to make this work with just the 4 corners and the grommets.

Pros
  • Very happy with the purchase
Cons
  • Might sag after a while
