Only time will tell: Cycling

I've learned the hard way that cheap cycling gear is basically just as cheap. I've been a cyclist since 1992. Although I'm primarily a MTB rider, I do own and love road riding. That's why I've been buying all kinds of cycling and racing clothing for decades. I've shopped at all of the companies and usually spend on quality (expensive) clothing and gear. They just fit, work, work and last longer than cheaper brands. From Assos, Castelli, Craft, Gore, Giordana, Rapha, Pearl Izumi and Santini. I mostly bought and owned high end kits. So, all this so that I know what should hold up and work and what shouldn't. I just bought these for fun. First impression - soft shorts feel nice and comfortable. The waist is not supported by additional seams or bands. Although they fit now, over time I have seen that the lack of something added at the upper waist can no longer fit well. The shell shorts look okay, nothing special or a touch of extra durability. The velcro on the front feels cheap and the overall material of the shorts is cheap and flimsy. Although I haven't ridden the anthem yet. I'm planning for this weekend. I don't know how they will behave at 1, 5 or 20 rides. I don't expect much from the first impression. The time will show.
