Of course the price was incredibly cheap at the time of purchase and considering that I have no regrets about the purchase. I typically pay 2-3x that price (per piece) for Dixie or Solo Plasticware. They came in a plastic bag in a shipping carton. The plastic bag wasn't sealed so some of the spoons turned out to be dusty or dirty. However, most of the spoons were clean. If you don't mind sifting the top layer of spoons, this is probably still a good deal. There are no special requirements for the spoons themselves. I prefer Dixies that I buy from my local wholesale club and will probably continue to buy Dixies. If they came in a sealed box or plastic bag and the price stayed the same I would change my mind.
