Review on πŸ“² Magnetic Wireless Car Charger: Fast 15W Charging Mount for iPhone 13/12 Series, with QC 3.0 Adapter - Windshield, Dashboard, Air Vent Holder by Eric Fish

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Strong attachment, flexible options included.

It comes with two mounting options, a vent clip (with a thumbscrew to tighten - seems very strong but I haven't used it) and a suction cup mount. The suction cup has many settings; a loop on the cup - a ball joint on the loading plate - and a telescopic arm in between. The suction cup is also treated with some sort of 'glue' so presumably it can be attached directly to a vinyl dashboard for example, but I haven't tested this feature either. I have it on my windshield and it works fine. Holding the phone is very durable. I've tried both a bare phone and a MagSafe case with magnets, both worked well. It comes with a sticky magnet and templates for several non-MagSafe phone models and cases, and they use a very strong 3M 300LSE adhesive. Options include iPhone 8, 11, SE, X, XR and select Android models. This tells me that this is not a "MagSafe" charger per se, just a Qi charger that supports MagSafe. That means charging is likely limited to 7.5W, but the trade-off is that one person who has an iPhone 12 and another has a non-MagSafe model can share the charger. Seems like a good compromise to me, but if you need maximum charging current you'll probably want something else. A couple of suggestions not rejected because they are suggestions for improvement... I would also like to see an AMPS variant of the cooker. A simple AMPS plate with a shaped sphere will do. Also, personally, I would have preferred to have the USB-C port on the back of the panel, or perhaps in a recessed slot to make hiding the cable easier. However, these are minor issues and the product description clearly stated what was included.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
