I have a two story house with two separate 240 VAC electric meters in a distribution and utility panel. I had solar panels retrofitted five years ago and lived on one side of a semi detached house where the output of the panels was connected to a three port multi-tap connector which was used to connect to the existing wiring. When I moved to the other side of the duplex, the solar panels produced electricity for the unoccupied duplex and sold it to the utility company at 3 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh), while I paid about 20 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity. the power consumption of my duplex machine; the opportunity cost is 17 cents per kWh. All I had to do was buy two of these connectors, close the main switches, turn off the solar panel power switch, disconnect the power lines from each of the two switches, connect each wire to separate connectors, and connect a new wire from each to route connectors to the switches and route the two output wires from the solar panel to the appropriate connector. Anti-oxidant grease was applied to the connectors and all exposed connector holes were covered so the connection could be easily secured. After closing the panel and turning the switches back on, solar power is now flowing to my current side of the duplex and I am using almost all of the power generated by the panels. I left the other connector on the other duplex wire but closed all the holes. These multi-branch connectors are ideal for connecting solar panel power (240VAC) directly to your home's power lines.
