Review on Parmida LED Downlight Replacement Installation Lighting & Ceiling Fans by Erin Wright

These LED lights are a really nice refresher on my old backboxes! They are good and bright. The light in combination with the molding around it looks much slimmer and nicer than the old interior bulbs we had. It's amazing how the 15 watt LEDs that replace the old 65 watt incandescent bulbs use a lot less power but shine brighter and I look forward to not buying those old floodlights again because they kept burning out . Replacing all 12 pieces took about 30 minutes including climbing stairs, removing old lightbulbs and trim. I also turned off the electricity because I don't trust this old house. The 1100 lumens you get in each of these lights is very bright. We use these in our finished basement ceiling, 13 in total. And 4000k (Kelvin, hue) is perfect for us. As we get a bit older, 2700k is too yellow for our eyes and makes it difficult to see/read/work/etc, and 5000k is too noticeable. 4000k is spot on and we are slowly converting all the lighting in our house to 4000k LEDs. Our old recessed glasses didn't have "C" clips (torsion clips) and I didn't want to go through the hassle of buying those clips separately, drilling holes and using screws to attach them to the glasses above my head ( I've done this before). and it adds a lot of work). ), so when I found these lights with the little metal wings, I was glad to avoid all that extra work. . They worked pretty well. My recessed cans are 5 inches. Based on what some other reviewers have said, I bent each of the metal "wings" slightly, pushed the light into the recessed glass and rotated clockwise to expand the metal "wings" to expand/ to open, compressing the light inside the jar. Of the 12 in my project, I had to pull a few out and put them back in because they weren't flush with the ceiling. But that wasn't a problem; could use it a second time. At one point a small orange plastic connector got stuck between the fairing and the ceiling causing the light to not sit flush with the ceiling and all I had to do was remove this connector and position it in a better jar over the LED. .I looked around and found these lights with metal blades but **baffles** (ribbed instead of smooth) that matched the others in our house but I couldn't find that style so I bought these with a smooth finish. They are really very cute and I am very happy with them. The difference in lighting styles from others in our partitioned home is not obvious at all.
