We've used our old Dohm Noise Machine every night for many years, and it's never failed us. It's heavy because it is so robustly made, and I'm sure that this is a big part of why it works so well, for so long. The sound is produced by a fan moving air through baffles, so the sound is very consistent, compared to digital noisemakers. We purchased a second Dohm machine when our grandson started staying overnight with us, and it is identical in design and materials to our first, and works just as well.We have liked this machine so well that we've hauled it in our luggage all over the world (which also requires lugging a transformer for countries with 220 Amp service. So, we decided to try a Dohm digital noisemaker, which is a fraction of the weight. It also works really well. It's battery lasts about 2 nights before a recharge is needed. It's downside is that the noise is on a loop, so it not as consistent. So, we love now our heavy Dohm at home and the light digital version while traveling.Great products. Don't hesitate to buy.
