We moved into a three story townhouse and it quickly became clear that my noisy, clunky old vacuum cleaner wouldn't work in our new home. I almost went deaf trying to vacuum the stairs and trying to keep my balance on the steps was useless. So I was convinced that a canister vacuum is what I need. This is the second one I've tried and the one I've kept. The suction power is very good. I'm sure it could be stronger, but given its light weight and quiet operation, I'm very happy with its cleaning ability. If there's a trade-off between direct suction power and weight, I'd happily go for a lighter unit, especially one with three cleaning floors. The electric brush head is great for low to medium pile and works better than me. to be expected on parquet floors. The switch to turn the brush on and off is right on the handle, which I think is a must. Crevice nozzles, upholstery and dust brushes are included and fit perfectly on board. They are useful, if a bit small. On the other hand, other reviewers are correct with complaints about the hose length. Of course, it could be longer, and while it has a telescoping tube, it's not long enough to reach that far up. Such is the case with the competing Electrolux Oxygen3 that I tried. I wish it was cheaper, but after spending many weekends trying out affordable alternatives at mainstream stores, I just couldn't find anything that had the Bosch goodness. with comparable price. If your priority is a quiet, compact and lightweight vacuum with great suction and all the cleaning tools you need, it's probably worth it.
