Although I would say it was cheap, I could easily find a piece of leather in my closet and make better use of its backing. Still, I used it for its intended purpose and it served its purpose. Deburring and polishing the blade. The polishing paste combined with the leather strap was able to clean my blade and cut it through pieces of paper with ease. I'm glad I bought something cheap enough to try my hand at finishing sharpened blades, but regret not buying the link. It was odd applying the compound to the front of the belt and not the suede side. This allows the compound to easily detach from the skin. I'm a bit disappointed with it, but at least it still works
