Great product at a good price!

The perfect sling! I made an oar and glued leather to it on one side, and on the opposite side I glued a piece of chipboard of the same size to tighten the backs of chisels and planes.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Some nuances

The sling and compound will last for many years.

I use this line almost every day, I've had it for almost a year, it works great and I have more than half the composition left. Glue to something flat. I, the gorilla, stick mine on a piece of worm chestnut. The only thing is that you may have to pay attention to the edges of the belt. I cut the edge at a 90 degree angle.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Empty

Excellent customer service

Just wanted to share my experience with BeaverCraft. I had an issue with a sling I ordered and wrote a review about how disappointed I was with the sling and the polish. I have not complained or insulted the product. I even said that maybe my feelings would change over time. I soon heard from a customer service representative that he apologized for his experience and to put things right, a replacement belt was on the way. Wow! I didn't expect it and it definitely wasn't my goal. When the…

Quality belt - good value for money - would buy again

Having used the BeaverCraft leather strop (LS2P1) to sharpen three knives my first impression was that it was a quality belt at a good price was. I have never sharpened knives. before, so I wasn't sure how easy or difficult it was to use, but it's as easy as it sounds. After rubbing the included compound onto the strap, I ran the blade of a knife across it at about the same angle as the bevel and buffed the edge straight up. I even used it to fix a few imperfections on one of our kitchen…

Suitable for beginners, the skin is not as normal as expected.

Although I would say it was cheap, I could easily find a piece of leather in my closet and make better use of its backing. Still, I used it for its intended purpose and it served its purpose. Deburring and polishing the blade. The polishing paste combined with the leather strap was able to clean my blade and cut it through pieces of paper with ease. I'm glad I bought something cheap enough to try my hand at finishing sharpened blades, but regret not buying the link. It was odd applying the…

Works very well. Good investment for the first time.

Bought this item to sharpen a chisel and plane. I've never exercised before and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is. Did I get a perfectly polished edge? No, but I think that's because it's my first time and I have no idea how long to do this. Maybe the free tutorial you just sent me will help me improve my technique. However, it improved sharpness and I was able to get smoother and smaller chips for my woodworking. Edit: After a better than wet/dry paper sharpening setup and sharpening…

Nice thick leather strap at great value

Measurements as described - Good size leather strap. I decided to attach it to a piece of pine wood I had laying around for better control when working with sharp objects. After liberally applying the included green compound to the skin and making a few dozen passes with the blade, I noticed a few areas where the compound was beginning to flake (as other people have mentioned). I added some petroleum jelly, processed it and added some more compound and never had a problem again. This sling gave

Disappointed (you got it right!) Read the full review

I don't really give a star or two to reviews, especially when the seller seems ok, but I always tell it what I see. I've actually had contact with the seller that this is indeed 100% pure leather, they said it is, I know for sure it's not full grain leather, not like any full grain leather I've seen. Smooth side I applied the bulk, I usually use the fluffy side, which didn't look or feel right to me. Anyway, this skin is hard as stone. This is the worst joint I have ever used and I have had…

Pros
  • Dressing Paste: Supplied with this dresser set and allows you to get your tools and knives razor sharp with minimal effort. With regard to the smooth side, this makes the process much easier.

High quality leather for sharpening knives and cutouts.

When I bought my first carving knife from BeaverCraft, the company offered me two leather straps and putty. They just asked me to write a review. This review is the fulfillment of that promise. When two pieces of leather arrived, I noticed three things - about 3 inches wide, 8 inches long, and 0.18 inches thick, each with a piece of polishing paste: Each piece of leather had a consistent texture. and appearance with no visible defects. The underside of each leather piece looked synthetic. A…
