I plugged in the cable and then unplugged it once for passport control and the socket came out of the device with the cable very easily. The socket is only assembled with a press fit and not soldered. I took it further apart and found that all of the external screws were self-tapping and screwed in at odd angles. The two screws holding the switch board were screwed into the stands so no complaints. A number of switch contacts on the circuit board were not soldered to the board, but simply floated freely in the holes. All grounds between the outlets in each vertical stack appear to be tied together, so devices connected to them are never electrically isolated in the ground planes. Overall, this is a cheap product with cost-cutting measures that make it difficult to recommend.
