It's cheap but mine is well built and works! I did a lot of electronics work so I removed the cover and looked inside. That's easy. That's what I wanted. No electronics. It's electrical and mechanical (aka electromechanical). Electricity is not required. Just switches connected to a small circuit board, I/O ports connected to a small circuit board, and a ribbon cable between the two boards.
