It syncs immediately, which is nice, but this is a replacement for my remote control, I already had half the buttons stop working. It's smaller, my daughter doesn't have a headphone jack when I'm at work. (I work from home) The OK/arrow keys are solid, making selection difficult, and they hardly work unless you hold them directly on the device. There is nothing around my Roku preventing it from receiving a signal and it has been in the same spot for two years. Basically we both use remotes so I can use them from other corners of my living room and this little remote for the buttons that went out on my other remote. Unfortunately, the headphone jack was one of the first to fail, making it impossible to replace it. This remote makes me hesitant to buy another Roku device if needed, just in case that's the style of their remotes at the moment.
