I don't know why they are advertised as vintage buttons because they are neither. However, they are really cute and come in a variety of color schemes. These little butterflies are tiny - note the quarter in one of my paintings - and the wood they are carved from is very thin. The holes you would use to sew them onto anything are very close together meaning you are limited in the size of your needle and the number of threads you can thread through the holes. Because the holes are so close together, any decent force pulling on the seam will crack the piece of wood connecting the two holes over time, so they really aren't good for anything more than decoration. And that's okay, because they're super cute and ready to decorate cloth bags, paper cards, etc. If you use them to decorate clothes, I would not machine wash clothes. For the price, this is a fun craft bag to have on hand. However, these are not vintage knobs and really should not be sold as such.
