These are fun lights, but they don't look that great on a pencil tree and they're expensive

I love gadgets and Christmas. So the idea of programmable lights was very interesting. After all, I grew up with lights flashing on my family's Christmas tree (although I was later persuaded to enjoy the steady, warm glow). in a long strand, like traditional lights. They connect to the receiver with two separate circuits that you program with a smartphone app. So it seemed logical to place the receiver in the center of the tree and wrap the light around it from the center up and then from the center down. If you had more than one thread it would probably look different. It's very expensive in terms of coverage, especially considering the ratio for Christmas lights is often 100 lights per 1.5 feet. That's 3 sets to properly cover a 9 foot tree! Do the math. This one strand on my 9 foot pencil tree didn't look terrible, but they weren't particularly bright compared to the pre-wired warm Christmas lights that came with the tree. Also, drawings don't look right on a pencil tree - it needs to be wider for the design to look right. My guess is that the pre-made designs didn't take the pencil tree into account, so the tightness of the pencil tree ruins the design. Of course they're programmable so you can set them on a timer so they turn on or off whenever you want, you can dim them, create some custom limited themes, etc. So if you want your tree to turn itself on automatically - and turns off automatically, it's better than the foot switch. It's just damn expensive. I ended up sending mine back hoping something like this will eventually become more affordable. Spring.
