Review on 🔊 MCP-3030 Conference Mate Bluetooth Wireless and USB Combo Speaker with Spracht by Lori Christensen

Button placement, weight and looks are great; I was really hoping it would work at all. The sound quality is pretty terrible. I've tried using Bluetooth on 4 devices - 2 high-end Android phones and 2 high-end Windows computers with no noticeable difference in sound quality. The engineer in me really wanted to find a way to enjoy this product that would solve some problems. No matter what I tried, the audio was still muffled and crackled when people started speaking louder. Understanding people is very difficult. My attempts to use this thing reminded me of the usual joke about trying to communicate on a broken intercom in a diner. I've been waiting for a hidden camera to come around the corner playing with this thing at meetings. Like the other reviewer, I tried turning it on its side and also doing a few other things to improve the sound quality - to no avail! There are no audio settings other than volume; I adjusted every possible equalizer setting on computers and phones, no improvement or change. The problem is clearly either in the dynamics or in the processing of digital signals received from other devices. For techies, all of the devices I tested support the audio codecs this device advertises. A NOTICE. Although I haven't tried it on an iPhone, I suspect this product was originally designed for the iPhone as I noticed some positive reviews. by iPhone users who noticed the high sound quality. I also noticed that Spracht offers an app in the iPhone store (Bongiovi DPS App) that is supposed to improve the audio quality when using the Conference Mate. The brochure on the Spracht website says the Android app is "coming soon" but I found the brochure is from 2013. I'm not going to wait and hope that one day this thing will work. If you have an Android phone, avoid this product; If you have an iPhone and buy this, keep the box just in case! Of my hundreds of Revain purchases over the years, this will sadly be my very first return! It's good that the box fell behind the sofa and didn't end up in the garbage!
