Stylus slips / Terrible customer support / Nice tie-dye case

Bought 4 months ago as a birthday present for my daughter. Good style and design. Some of my old records played, some didn't. I thought the records were old and scratched. Let's jump ahead to December. My daughter got some new records for Christmas and two of them played with problems. Again, these are BRAND NEW entries. I tried the same records on my vintage player and they played great. My guess is that the included stylus (needle) is too rough to play vinyl properly. I have tried to contact Victrola both by email and by phone but have not received a reply.
