Review on ๐Ÿšฒ TOTMOX - Acera RD-M390 Rear Derailleur for 7-9 Speed MTB Bikes by Jon Lewis

By ACTUAL BIKE MECHANIC

This is a Shimano copy but they don't try to sell it as a genuine Shimano RD. I swap out nearly 100 Acera switches a year for breakage. This is a great repair replacement so I have a lot of experience with a genuine Shimano RD. During COVID spare parts were no longer to be found. To complete the renovation I turned to this one. It arrived a day earlier than planned. Great job seller! The adjustment screws are slightly over tightened and of inferior quality. Pivot of tension spring slightly loosened. Other than that it worked fine. Received the derailleur in a couple of days and the repair was done the next day compared to waiting months for a genuine Shimano RD. I gave the customer the opportunity and they told me to try it, which I did. Was pleasantly surprised and was totally amazed that it arrived so quickly. I will say that it runs better at 7 speeds, with performance declining as you go to 9. The problem is this free pivot point. I will also say that you should put a drop of lube on the high/low screw and screw B before adjusting. It almost feels like I'm cutting my own strings. Otherwise well done.

Cons
