This skimmer is attached to my 90 gallon reef tank. I kept the pool without a skimmer for a few months as I didn't have a lot of bioburden and was trying to save some money on the build. I finally bought this skimmer when I started adding more fish. About 4 fish in a 90g tank do 20% water changes every two weeks for several months so I added this skimmer. And things worked. I couldn't believe how much dirt was in the water! He pulled out a dark tea/coffee skimmate. I emptied the drip tray every few days. After a few months of running, once a week is enough. Another site recommends this for 120 g light bioburden, 90 g medium bioburden and 60 g heavy bioburden. I tend to agree when evaluating the capacity of this skimmer. It's worth every penny for A) making my system healthier, reducing bacteria, etc. and B) reducing my tank maintenance by more than half.
