I got these (7 port version) to replace the passive hub extension with a monitor that seems to turn off bluetooth on windows every few weeks. (This is a rare voltage issue that can only be resolved by unplugging everything from the wall for a while.) The only downside to this hub is that the blue lights, while decorative, are useless. More light passes around USB ports than through indicator holes or around buttons. Also, the indicator only lights up when the switch is on *and* something is connected. It's not really a glitch, it's just the way you connect, but it means you can only know if a port is active before you plug anything in. into it by looking or feeling if the button is pressed. In general, the hub makes a solid impression. I'll probably switch to ten ports to better see which buttons are active. up to 3 inches, 2 packs - $11.47). This mounting solution looks better than it looks because the ends of the protective clips align with the knobs on the hub.
