I usually attach laptop locks to my desk, but my desk is solid wood so I need an alternative. I found this while looking at laptop locks and decided to grab it. I was actually surprised at how well it works. For those curious, pulling the cord through the loop can be an issue if the laptop cord is thicker and not as flexible. One of my cables was very stiff and it took me a little effort to push it through enough to get through, but it eventually snapped through. I was able to insert a second one without any problems. The assembly of the anchor was quite quick and easy. It would be much more secure if you attached it to a hard surface like wood rather than drywall, but that's about all the space I could fit it in. And I think that someone could make some good strokes. It's possible to tighten mounting screws on it, even on solid wood, but really the point is to have something that makes it difficult to get your stuff out, so I'd say that would do the trick. I highly recommend this product.
