This product is perfect for our dog! (The sizing chart seems to work really well.) I trimmed the back elastics and did NOT use them to secure the rear as it didn't feel particularly comfortable (or was encouraged to "do your thing"). I've done it once - the jacket works great - it seems to keep him very warm and doesn't bother him in any way. (And - I've never got his fur caught in a zipper (yet!)) He seems to really like his new coat! Can't ask for more.) (We live in New England and I hated taking it with me, uncoated when the temps dropped into the single digits and below - I wouldn't like that - I'm sure he wouldn't either) Coat seemed like him a lot more comfortable and he's enjoying our walks a lot more now that he's not shaking! I think we're both more comfortable (me, mentally) now that he's got a coat too!
