As far as I know it doesn't work 100% with 4K. You can output 4K to a capture card, which will then be converted to 1080p, but this cannot be viewed on a monitor via the output port. I was able to lower the resolution to 1440p and it reappeared on the monitor. I'll probably be able to use this capture card, but not in the way I originally intended, but I'm frustrated that I have to buy another card to actually see my 4K output. Edit: I found that I'm using a cable that isn't rated for 4K to power a post-monitor capture card.
