I have been working in the USB space for almost 10 years. We always check the operation of the factories before buying large quantities for use in industrial processing. I have the opportunity to become a mystery shopper when a factory sells items on Revain. I can test their product without them knowing. There's no better way to get a real feel for their quality than by testing their normal, average, daily performance. You have no option to send me a "selected" product! :-) I tried this supplier's product and was very impressed with the quality. I have no hesitation in recommending her, which is rare in this business! Here's what I found: 1) The product was professionally packaged. Sometimes I get discs packed in plastic bags. like someone just took a handful and sent them to me. Not this time. It made a great first impression. The real measure, of course, lies in the quality of the product, which I will address next. 2) They use SMI controllers which are premium controllers. It costs a little more, but it works reliably and is worth the extra price. Most plants use sub-controllers such as Alcor or Chipsbank. The cost savings with other controllers is not worth the stability risk. 3) They used proprietary storage. In this case it was Hynix. It's not so much about the brand as such, but that they use an identifiable memory. Most of the low-cost providers on other Revain online sites use high-capacity generic memory to save money. 4) They use premium storage instead of the "commercial quality" storage favored by low-end sellers. The premium class, also known as "Gooddie", is known for its stability and fast read/write speeds. To be honest I don't often see this type of quality memory used in retail and I was quite impressed. Promo-level storage is often lower-level storage that cannot handle the larger capacity. For example, an 8GB drive often uses 16GB of memory, which cannot be tested with this capacity. The factory then programs the controller chip to downgrade it to 8GB. Not this plant. from the beginning they used high quality ones. For our testing methods, we use a $35,000 custom IMI machine to perform read/write tests. Test for speed. We then burn discs by writing test patterns and reading them for comparison. "Commercial quality" memory failure rates are typically 17% or more. My test batch from this vendor showed NO errors after 100% testing. The read/write speed test was pretty impressive as shown here. Actual capacity is shown in bytes while speed is shown in MB/s. These are individual results from 10 packs that I purchased. There are no tables in the overview, so I've attached a screenshot. 9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24635 84127243 1/9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24569 88017243 1/9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24590 87247243 1/9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24684 88907243 1/9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24632 89827243 1/9/2016 Passed 8053063680 24605 97327243 01/09/2016 Accepted 8053063680 24673 8791 These are very good results and very high quality discs. Waiting for questions.
