I would like to start out by saying it’s awesome that companies like Dove are starting to realize and value the importance of making products that are environmentally friendly and aren’t going to fill up our landfills. I think every company needs to take a step back in 2022 and start making adjustments to help out our planet.I’ve used dove soap, deodorant, and more for years now and have never had any issues. I usually use their bar soap and have been for a long time, it’s my favorite bar soap because it doesn’t bother my skin and helps keep it from being as oily. This soap was just as great and I loved the scent. It was a pretty neutral scent so we put it in our shower for everyone to use. It was extremely easy to figure out how to "make” the soap. The little bottle screws into the bigger bottle and then you squeeze it in. Next step is just to add water to the line it shows on the inside. I do agree with another reviewer that it would be nice to somehow make the line more visible since the bubbles come up but it’s really not a deal breaker. Now you might be wondering if I have such great things to say about the soap then why 3 stars? The reason for that is honestly the price. The price for this beginner kit is fair at $21 for the reusable pump and the 2 concentrates. The issue for me is that it’s $26 for 4 concentrates after that which is about $6.5 per bottle of soap with 4 people using the soap almost daily we use a lot. It’s not going to be affordable or make sense to spend that much money when we can get the same thing at the store for significant cheaper. That’s the current issue with a lot of these sustainable products is that they make it hard for people that don’t have a lot of money to be able to afford their "refills”. Until the price for these refills is the same price as the same product in a plastic bottle I don’t see these products being as popular as the brand would expect. I recently tried Doves reusable deodorant and I really liked the reusable metal container until I saw the price for the refills was like 3-4x the price of a whole stick of deodorant. The goal for brands in 2022 should be to find a way to give consumers a better deal instead of lining their own pockets and calling a product "earth friendly”
