I was hesitant to buy it because of the negative reviews but decided to give it a try and I'm so happy I did. I love it. The waffles were a perfect color and cooked to perfection. I timed them to 7 minutes and after extraction they were a nice golden brown color. I used a pre-made Belgian waffle mix and oiled the inside of the grill with vegetable oil as directed since the mix had no oil or eggs. I manually filled the bottom layer to the line shown in the instructions because when I measured out 1/3 cup it wasn't enough so I added the batter to the level shown in the chart. I then added the strawberry pie filling and chocolate chips, avoiding the sides. I filled it with batter to the line indicated in the instructions. The first time I placed the filling too close to the edges so it seeped a bit and was a little sticky when removed. I peeled it off and tried to avoid the sides afterwards when topping the next two waffles and they didn't stick at all. The last one I made was easy and came out perfect too, the same size and texture as the filled waffles. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh take on traditional Belgian waffles.
