These are well made and solid basic brake levers for bikes with more or less straight handlebars. My back was getting too old for the drop bars, so I converted my old road bike into some sort of hybrid with trail bike bars and a softer saddle. This necessitated replacing the brake levers and they seem like a good choice to work with the new Shimano cables. They have an adjustment screw that adjusts the maximum distance between the grips and the handlebars based on the size of your hand, but the minimum distance is still a little larger than we'd like. I'm not sure how useful the leverage ratio setting is, but it's probably a nice feature. This way you can optimize for different types of brakes.
