If you're using this on a flash arm, get a flash arm about 3 inches long instead. That's too long for this purpose. This adds extra weight and you have to deal with the extra length of wire (I wrap it around the flash arm). Using this allows you to hold the flash at arm's length. Which doesn't make sense to me would be more convenient than running the 3 inch cable. An advantage I never use. In this case I buy an even longer cable to put the flash on a stand for even more positioning options. As for the quality of the materials, it's very good.
