Review on πŸ”Œ TYUMEN Low Voltage Wire Connectors - Toolless, Quick Splice Terminals for AWG 20-24 Wires by Adam Vang

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It takes a decent amount of force to snap into place, no problem with sliding pliers on the eight connectors.

In general, I am satisfied with the functionality and material quality of these connectors. They are difficult to close and latch, but pliers solve this problem and the connectors don't break or snap. I found them difficult to open when intended to be wirelessly latched (and presumably when installed). My use case was installing LEDs in electrical boxes eight feet from the stairs. These connectors proved to be simple, small, and allowed to organize (2) wires for each LED. Snapping the connectors onto the wires was a lot more difficult than I expected, my attempts to close and snap the connectors by hand completely failed - I used pliers. However, none of the connectors were cracked, broken, or showing any signs of stress. I suggest using wedge pliers that can distribute the force evenly to reduce overall stress on the plastic. Because connectors can be difficult to fully close and latch, you must ensure that the latches are fully engaged. Sometimes they click, but most of the time you need to check the latch hook for proper engagement. I am concerned about my decision to use these crimp connectors for my application. Connectors are now installed in outdoor electrical boxes, where the temperature usually reaches 110-115 degrees every summer. Will they break down in this heat? During installation I prepared my LEDs with pigtails and connected them to one side of the connectors. Then, in the electrical box, I pre-tested the plug connection by inserting the stripped power wires into the previously assembled plug LED assembly. If the LED doesn't light up, I may be able to troubleshoot before proceeding with the final connection. Note that it is not necessary to strip the wires, but with the bare wire I could test the electrical connection before proceeding with the final connection.
