I wore them with regular trail running shoes (Saucony) on a moose hunt. It was a great lightweight combo for climbing up and down mountains during the day with a light pack. The shoes often got wet from afternoon showers, morning dew and multiple river crossings. The inside of the socks stayed dry apart from my usual sweat. The inside of the socks is amazingly smooth, no seams, very soft and comfortable. I wore this combination in temperatures of 35-65 degrees. The combo was a bit chilly in the early morning but not bad once I started hiking. After heavy rain, the outside of the socks were soaked that evening and all the next day, long dried by the fire. That would be the only negative, they took a long time to dry when you are in the mountains for a full week. Next year I will have 2 pairs to rotate. Ugly but useful!
