Pretty Nifty Device

I hesitated for a long time whether to give 4 or 5 stars. 5 stars for value for money. But I wanted to deduct a star to warn people that you're not getting a top-notch graphics card with this machine. I hooked this up to an extra 1600x900 monitor I have. It's great for basic productivity tasks - surfing the web, checking email, writing documents, etc. When running light applications, I couldn't tell which monitor was connected to this device and which monitor was connected to my internal graphics card. There was a bit of stuttering with 480p videos, and there was a noticeable lag with 1080p videos - so much so that you can't watch high-resolution videos with this device. (Obviously my display doesn't support full 1080p, so it had to be downconverted; I don't know if that affected performance.) However, the device didn't slow down my computer or affect 1080p video performance. on my other two monitors. (In fact, I cast half the video to a monitor connected through this device and half to another monitor and could see that half the video stuttered and the other half ran smoothly.) I didn't even try to run games with it sophisticated graphics. If you're having trouble playing standard definition videos, it's not the fault of Crysis.So. . . . It's good for its purpose, but don't expect miracles.
