When I bought my house 10 years ago the bell was on the door but for some reason I never bothered to replace it. 10 minutes to find a replacement for Revain and it was so cheap I could hate it. When I went to photograph the old doorbell, I was surprised to find that it was an almost identical replacement - same bells, same circuitry, even the font for the terminals was identical. The only difference was the outer shell - the mine was a faded yellow, either due to age or because the house originally had yellow walls and the new one was white with a different pattern. You may ask... I tagged the wires, unplugged the old one, put the new one back in the same spot, and plugged it back in. The hardest part of the process was running the cables back through the old unit, but overall it took five minutes from start to finish, and we no longer miss the delivery man when we're at the back of the house. I can't guarantee it will last more than 15 years, but given the closeness of this coincidence, I'm confident.
