It's definitely synthetic hair I wish it looked more realistic and not on the plastic side but I bought it more for the style of it so the texture of the hair isn't really that important it sheds really horribly though I must say but hopefully it stops shedding but I doubt it it's more like a cosplay kind of wig instead of a everyday kind of wig but it will do for now it's the only one I can find on here that I actually liked the style of I did have to cut it a bit because it kept flipping up and out which I hated but it's okay considering that it is a synthetic wig and for the price what more can you expect for a $20 wig
